Covington, Georgia has exactly the kind of downtown worth fighting for — independently owned restaurants, boutiques, and specialty shops that give the community its character. But local business owners had no affordable, community-first way to reach the people living right down the street.
Existing platforms made things worse. Groupon destroyed margins. Yelp and Google favored big ad budgets. Social media buried organic posts. And residents had no single place to find local deals, community events, or city announcements. Everything was scattered across Facebook groups, email newsletters, and printed flyers nobody kept.
Appifyio designed and built YourTown Covington — a purpose-built community platform serving three user groups simultaneously. Two completely separate user environments — a consumer mobile app and a business owner dashboard — share a single backend with no overlap in experience.
The design was deliberately warm and community-focused. Deep navy, forest green, and gold. Clean card layouts. An interface approachable to a 60-year-old boutique owner and a 25-year-old food truck operator alike. No tech-startup aesthetic. A product that feels like it belongs to the town it serves.
